Young performers are invited to take part in a NIDA Open weekend workshop to be held in Milton in January.
The Milton Follies received funding under the Regional Arts NSW and Arts NSW Country Arts Support Program (CASP) to run the workshop for 13 to 18-year-olds.
The workshops will be delivered by National Institute of Dramatic Art Open (NIDA Open) tutors and will provide teenagers in the Milton-Ulladulla district with an opportunity usually only accessible to students in city areas.
Milton Follies president Ruth Myers said the weekend workshop would be facilitated by some of the most outstanding tutors and practitioners in theatre, film and television in Australia.
“It’s a fabulous opportunity for our young performing artists,” she said.
“The focus of the workshop will be acting, character development and auditions.”
Ruth said the course would be free for the successful applicants and places were limited.
“The CASP grant means we can run this course free of charge, an added bonus for our talented young people.”
Students will need to apply for a position by filling in the below application form, in which they must outline why they would like to participate, and their previous stage experience. The application must be emailed to Milton Follies by January 6th to be eligible for consideration.
The workshop will be held over the weekend of January 28 and 29 at the Milton CWA hall.
