Di Falloon was a beating heart of Milton Follies, a woman whose boldness, creativity, and unwavering dedication shaped the very foundation of our theatre community. From 2003 to 2022, she poured her passion into multiple productions, transforming Milton Follies into a vibrant and beloved institution. Without her vision, energy, and relentless commitment, we simply would not be where we are today.
Di was a director extraordinaire—bold, eccentric, and meticulous in her craft. She had an uncanny ability to see potential in everyone, whether they were stepping onto the stage for the first time or seasoned performers looking to refine their skills. Her eclectic approach to theatre, marked by vigor and enthusiasm, brought out the best in her actors. She didn’t just direct; she inspired, mentored, and nurtured a love for the performing arts in people of all ages. Her famous call to “PROJECCCTTTT!” to the back wall of the theatre became a rallying cry for the company, a reminder of the energy and commitment she demanded—and inspired—in every performer.
Her expertise in comedy was unmatched, with productions like Sweet Fanny Adams and Noises Off standing as testaments to her skill. From the first read-through to the final performance, Di worked tirelessly with her cast, fine-tuning every aspect of their delivery, whether it was the precision of slapstick timing, the subtlety of facial expressions, or the power of vocal projection. She taught her actors to never turn their backs to the audience, to give their all to every character, and to embrace the transformative power of theatre. These lessons extended far beyond the stage, shaping the confidence, discipline, and creativity of everyone she worked with.
Her 2025 passing leaves a void in the hearts of everyone at Milton Follies and in the broader community. But her legacy is one that will endure.
